The hardest part of a temperature blanket is buying the yarn before you know the weather. Your city's last two years are the best guide: how many days fell in each 10°F band. We average them for the expected rows, and buy each color for its busier year.

How sure is it
The overall shape is steady: a city's hot colors and cold colors stay its hot and cold colors. The count in a single band is not. Comparing 2024 and 2025 across our cities, the busiest band moved by a median of 21 rows and in one city in ten by 36 or more. So each city's yarn list buys every color for its busier year, not the average: either of the last two years would be fully covered, with yarn left over for a border.
