How these numbers are made
The weather. Daily maximum temperatures from Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport (NOAA station USW00012960), from the Global Historical Climatology Network daily summaries. This is the station the National Weather Service uses for the city record.
The colors. Ten fixed bands of 10°F, from below 20°F to 100°F and up, so a color means the same thing in every city. Bands with no days are left off the key.
The yarn. Worsted weight, worked out for your stitch and width, with a margin on every color and rounded up to whole skeins or packs.
